Always start with a spreadsheet. I use mail merge software to quickly customize the addressing on each envelope, minimizing potential errors. A spreadsheet is required to do a mail merge. I personally LOVE using Google Sheets - it allows a live spreadsheet so you can share it with everyone and ensure that you are always working with the most up to date list.
