What Day-of Wedding Stationery Products Do We Recommend?
While you don’t need to order every wedding stationery product under the sun (especially if you’re a budget-conscious couple—we see you!), a few are non-negotiable. These pieces will elevate your wedding design. And, even more importantly, they’ll ensure your guests know what to expect and where to go at your celebration.
Menus: These are my favorite stationery pieces at a wedding reception! They build your guests’ anticipation for the meal by revealing the components of every course, beyond the “fish” or “chicken” entree they selected on their RSVP card. Plus, they add an elegant touch to your tablescape!
Place Cards, Seating Cards, or a Seating Chart: Any of these options will do—just don’t skip assigned seating for your guests! Your guidance will eliminate confusion and potential conflict over who is sitting where.
Assigning guests to tables is enough, but using place cards to designate specific seats for specific people is even better. I recently attended a wedding where this wasn’t done, and the couple had divided the guests between two long tables of eight. A seat-saving snafu separated me and my husband and moved us away from a friend we had been sitting with—awkward! Had the couple assigned us specific seats, we all would have been much more comfortable.
Thank You Cards: You need these throughout your wedding planning journey, especially if you’re hosting multiple events (think engagement party, bridal shower, and, of course, the wedding celebration). Whether you’re registering for gifts or not, your guests will appreciate receiving your thanks for helping you celebrate.
Table Numbers: Adding table numbers to the mix ensures your guests know where to go after they’ve received their assigned seating. Another perk? Adding table numbers, menus, and place cards to your order ensures a cohesive look so everything on your tables looks branded!
If you have the budget, custom cocktail napkins are a great add-on. And if you order a large quantity with your wedding crest or monogram, you can use the extras in your home later! We also love the look of custom gift tags on welcome bags or guest favors.

We’re a Budget-Conscious Couple—What Pieces Can We Skip or Combine?
Programs: If the budget is tight, programs are the first item we advise couples to skip. Sure, they look nice and provide a rundown of your ceremony, but most guests won’t mind if they aren’t available. They often end up right in the trash anyway!
Napkins, Stir Sticks, and Coasters: These day-of items are “bonuses.” They look cute and add a custom touch but ultimately aren’t necessary. Trust us, your guests will enjoy the signature drinks you’ve chosen, whether or not branded napkins accompany them!
Seating Cards vs. Seating Chart: If saving money is a concern, we recommend using 5x7” seating cards to show each table instead of a seating chart. Charts come with a higher design fee due to the time it takes to create them. Foam boards can also be shockingly spendy to print and take more time than many couples have in those last few weeks before their celebration.
Menus and Place Cards: You can easily combine these must-have items into one piece of paper to slash your order’s overall cost.
How to Order Day-of Wedding Stationery
Every piece will look cohesive when you order day-of wedding stationery from Invited by LamaWorks. Even if you don’t have wedding “branding” (like a custom crest or monogram), the colors and paper varieties will be the same, ensuring consistent aesthetics and quality!
You can start by browsing our complete list of products. We’re confident that you’ll find what you need! But if a collection happens to be missing something on your wishlist, we’re happy to create a custom product.
You’ll find options for customization, from color to wording and even personalized details like adding your wedding monogram. Then, once you’re satisfied, ordering is as easy as adding to your cart and checking out!
Alternatively, we can create a custom proposal suited to your unique needs. The great thing about a custom proposal is that we can begin months before your wedding day and flex the design as needed. For example, we can adjust your invoice if you realize your budget needs trimming as the day draws closer. As soon as you submit your deposit, we'll draft your design. Then, we'll leave it be until you have your finalized quantities and give me the green light to print!
