One of the things we love about designing wedding invitations is the opportunity to work with couples near and far. Although we’re based in Illinois, we had the honor of creating stationery for Kelly and Thomas’s vows on the East Coast! Their summer wedding in Westbrook, Connecticut, epitomized classic style, with blue tones and pops of colorful flowers. Water’s Edge Resort & Spa was the perfect setting, with panoramic views of Long Island Sound.

New England summers were Kelly and Thomas’s guiding concept for designing their Connecticut wedding. Their vision was elegant and timeless, with nautical touches inspired by their venue’s waterfront setting. When searching for stationery that would tie their day together, they came across our Ashley Collection. It was a match made in heaven! They loved the suite’s elegant look and customizable blue crest wreathed in dainty flowers. In addition to their invitation suite, they invested in day-of stationery and signage from the Collection so that every detail was cohesive.

An Enhanced Guest Experience

Kelly and Thomas wanted their wedding day to be fun and memorable for their guests. So, they planned two special surprises: a live painter and a saxophonist! Rachel Miller Fine Art painted the bride and groom in real time during their ceremony, creating a meaningful keepsake that wowed their guests. She also painted portraits of guests and their families throughout the reception, which they took home as favors. As the celebration began to wind down, the saxophonist arrived and surprised guests with several songs, ending the evening on a high note!
