Black-Tie Wedding at the Gibbes Museum of Art

I connected with Ovo and Robert through their planner, Kayla Gantzer of Southern House Events. They were planning a black-tie wedding at the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston and inquired about day-of paper products. It was an honor to provide stationery for the couple’s Gatsby-themed reception! This day was so stylish that it even earned a feature in Brides.

Elegant and Minimal Day-of Wedding Stationery

We provided escort cards, place cards, menus, and table numbers for Ovo and Robert’s reception. The couple chose a minimalist, black-and-white design for their paper products, allowing the colors of the florals, draping, and seating to take center stage. Each piece featured an elegant black script font on a clean white background. In addition, we incorporated the couple’s custom monogram by Katie Knowles into the escort card and menu designs! We loved how they chose to provide guests with their seating assignments by way of “escort card girls” during cocktail hour, channeling a 1920s speakeasy.

Art Deco-Inspired Reception at the Gibbes Museum of Art

Ovo and Robert tented their reception in the Lenhardt Garden at the Gibbes Museum of Art. Southern House Events outdid themselves with the design! The color palette featured contrasting hues of carbernet, sky blue, and mauve. Meanwhile, textured details—including velvet banquettes and sleek satin tablecloths—provided the opulent feeling the couple desired. However, guests had to look up to appreciate the most fantastic design elements in the space! A 24-foot-long floral installation, courtesy of Branch Design Studio, hung overhead and was joined by a dozen Art Deco chandeliers.

It was a privilege to be a part of bringing this stunning wedding day to fruition! The Gibbes Museum of Art provided the perfect backdrop for a black-tie affair. Whether you need wedding invitations or are seeking day-of stationery like Ovo and Robert, we would be delighted to help you find the perfect semi-custom pieces to bring your vision to life.
