FAQs - Wedding Invitations

HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?

If you know the design that you want to customize, all you need to do is fill out the form below the pictures on the product page. I'll send over a design board to make sure I have your ideas straight and we'll get moving from there!

 

WHAT IF I DON'T QUITE KNOW WHAT I WANT?

No big deal at all, our first few emails are more about nailing down those details. We'll talk about what you want, what you need and what you can fit into your budget. I'll send over sketches of different ideas at different price points so you can really focus in and make some decisions. If you'd like to schedule a consult we can do that as well, either in person or via zoom. Most of my clients prefer email, so that is my standard method of communication.|

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PROCESS?
Once we have the details of your order together, I'll send over a contract that outlines payment due dates and expectations. Your $100 proofing deposit is due before I start adding in your custom wording and details.
Then, some time during the first week or two of design, 50% of your invoice is due before I order paper. Your remaining balance is due before they ship out.


WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?

Your invoice will contain a link to pay with a credit card online. If you are local to Quincy, you can also stop in with a check. If you do pay by check, design work will be held until your check clears.

HOW LONG DOES AN ORDER OF WEDDING INVITATIONS TAKE?

Most wedding orders take about 4-6 weeks to complete. Please allow for about 1-2 weeks for design, 2 weeks for a printed proof and another 2 weeks for your full order to print.

SO IF INVITATIONS TAKE 4-5 WEEKS, WHEN SHOULD I REALLY START THINKING ABOUT STARTING MY INVITATIONS?

Ideally - the sooner the better. The design process can take time so the more time you give yourself the better. I recommend starting your design about 4-6 months before your wedding and sending them out about 2 months before.


CAN I RUSH MY ORDER?

Yes! I do offer rush processing of orders at an additional cost. A rush order will guarantee your order is finished in 1-3 weeks. The more prompt you are at replying to emails and are ready with your text, the faster they get out. The rush order fee is an additional 20% and includes priority proofing, 1st in line email returns, jump ahead of the line printing and any rush shipping needed to get supplies in.


HOW MANY SHOULD I ORDER?

Take your guest list - then add at least 10 more. You'll want to have extras for those last few people you forgot about as well as any that go missing in the mail. I can always print you more later - but keep in mind that  it is a minimum order of 10 invitations and will take another 2 weeks. It's always better to order more than you need than not enough!


DO YOU HAVE AN ORDER MINIMUM?

Yes! I do have a minimum order of 30 invitations.


WILL I SEE MY INVITATION IN PERSON BEFORE YOU PRINT?

Time willing- yes! I really encourage all of my brides to see a sample proof in person before I print the full order. It really helps to catch any last minute spelling mistakes or colors that you aren't sure on. Printed proofs are complimentary with your order unless you use a specialty printing method. Due to the artisan methods used for thermography, embossing, foil and letterpress, printed proofs are not available.


I REALLY LOVE ONE OF YOUR INVITATIONS BUT IT IS A BIT OUT OF MY PRICE RANGE - IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?

Yes! I can work with a variety of budgets if you are willing to make a few changes to the invitation and since I design everything myself, I can do that! Changing the paper color, the amount of paper used, converting a pocket to a flat invite or removing some of the "extra" pieces can really lower the cost.

Just let me know what parts of the design you love and can't live without, what things you could do away with if it saved you some money and what your ideal price range would be.

I LOVE YOUR VIBE, BUT I'M NOT SEEING SOMETHING I REALLY LOVE, CAN YOU CREATE A BRAND NEW CUSTOM DESIGN FOR MY EVENT?

Yes! I am happy to take on custom designs. Any design requests that vary significantly from what I have already designed do have custom design fees that vary by the the number of pieces in the set you are ordering. Most custom orders have an additional $250 design fee.

Changes in colors, fonts, graphics or addition of additional information cards are NOT custom work. For custom designs I do require a $250 deposit before I begin detailed design work.

This is a very detailed process - so please be prepared to be very thorough and specific in what you want. I really need to see pictures of other designs that you like - fonts, colors, style, design - to get a good custom design.
